…I said, and banged my head immediately on the low-ceiling of the tiny room, as I tried to stand up straight. Being a relatively tall fellow, I find it difficult to stand up straight in small places without bumping my head around. It was a momentous occasion, though. Mansi and I had just finalized the travel arrangements for our first trip together. We’re both travelers, very much in love with each other and with traveling around the world with nothing more than a toothbrush and a change of underwear in our bags and on that gloomy Friday night, the 21st of September, we finalized our travel plans to Goa and Gokarna. The tickets were booked, the bags (almost) packed (in principle) and the thrill of a new adventure together kept us up all night.
We decided to start this blog, a diary of sorts, to capture all the fascinating things that we plan to see and experience, and to share the sheer joys of sharing a cup of tea by the roadside in a strange land, walking through the rain to catch a dingy local bus to get to the next town, or just lounging on rocks by the sea, sipping chai and smoking a cigarette.
Traveling, for us, is all about the journey, getting lost, the meaningless interactions with random strangers, the ability to whip out the camera in time to shoot a picture of the bus we just missed, and laughing about flies in our tea cup. We’ll try to do justice to all that we experience.
Thanks for dropping by. Let’s have a cup of chai.
